The FIFA DRC determined that the player had just cause to terminate the employment contract due to outstanding salaries of more than two months. The club was ordered to pay the outstanding amounts plus compensation for breach of contract, and a sporting sanction was applied.
FC Barcelona v. FIFA
FC Barcelona appealed a FIFA decision imposing a transfer ban for two consecutive registration periods due to violations of Article 19 of the FIFA RSTP concerning the international transfer of minors. CAS dismissed the appeal in its entirety, confirming that the protection of minors is of paramount importance in football and that the exceptions in Article 19 must be interpreted strictly.
