FIFA Diploma in Football Law – 4th edition: 2026-2027
Dear Sir or Madam,
FIFA is pleased to announce the launch of the fourth edition of the FIFA Diploma in Football Law, which will feature insights from renowned experts, leaders, arbitrators and sports lawyers.
As part of FIFA’s continuous commitment to promoting education and fostering knowledge- sharing, and following the success of the previous three editions, the programme offers a practical, personalised learning approach, combining theoretical foundations, research and in- person sessions. It comprises five modules – each lasting four days – focused on key facets of football law and delivered across five international locations over the course of 12 months.
The fourth edition is primarily aimed at legal staff from FIFA’s Member Associations and will commence at FIFA’s office in Miami, United States, in the second quarter of 2026.
In order to facilitate the participation of all Member Associations, FIFA will cover the tuition fees, as well as travel and accommodation expenses, for all five modules for Member Association representatives participating in the programme.

FIFA Diploma in Football Law 4TH EDITION – 2026-2027 FIFA Diploma in Football Law
Programme Overview Since its inception in 2019, the FIFA Diploma in Football Law has become a well-established, prestigious legal course on football for qualified legal experts from across the globe. Now into its fourth edition, it continues to provide ambitious and football-focused sports legal executives working at FIFA Member Associations, leagues, clubs, players’ unions and private practices with a comprehensive insight into every important aspect of the football legal ecosystem.
FIFA’s vision to make football truly global and to unite the world through the beautiful game involves a harmonic and holistic approach to implementing the legal principles of the game, to which all football stakeholders are contributing.
This programme is not only a diploma for specialisation, but also a platform for dynamic and vivid interaction between renowned experts, arbitrators and academics and its participants, and it provides a permanent network of knowledge and expertise exchange.

Introduction to Football Law
1 12-15 May 2026 | Miami (United States)
Module 1 provides an overview of the legal framework governing football, including key principles and the role of various football governing bodies.
FIFA Transfer Regulations — Part I
2 15-18 September 2026 | Asunción (Paraguay)
Module 2 covers the basics of FIFA’s transfer regulations, focusing on the dispute resolution system, player-club matters, such as the signing and breach of contracts, registration issues, and national-team matters.
4 FIFA Transfer Regulations – Part 2
3 10-13 November 2026 | Rabat (Morocco)
Module 3 delves deeper into FIFA’s transfer regulations, addressing the signing and breach of contracts, transfer issues, and the concepts of solidarity and training compensation.
Other Aspects of Football Law
4 February 2027 | Dubai (United Arab Emirates)
Module 4 explores additional legal aspects of football, including disciplinary, doping, and integrity matters, as well as commercial rights, TV rights, and sponsorship. This module will include participation in the FIFA Football Law Annual Review 2027.
CAS Proceedings
5 11-14 May 2027 | Zurich (Switzerland)
Module 5 examines the procedures and practices of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), including how disputes in football are resolved through arbitration, and it looks at some leading CAS cases.

Programme Methodology Participants’ Profile The FIFA Diploma in Football Law, conducted exclusively in English, The FIFA Diploma in Football Law is designed for sports executives who engages participants through sessions, discussions, case studies, want to enhance their knowledge of football law to further their career, while and interactive activities, with each module and topic designed to receiving a comprehensive, in-depth overview of the latest football law rules complement and enhance the others. and trends from experts who are active at all levels of the football industry.
Each module spans four days. Upon successful completion of the A potential participant in this programme may work in the legal department programme, participants will receive an official certificate of of a FIFA Member Association, hold a legal position at a players’ union, club completion issued by FIFA. or league, or work as a sports lawyer in the football field.
Speakers The FIFA Diploma in Football Law is taught by experienced football law specialists. The various modules will be delivered by FIFA lawyers, independent attorneys, CAS arbitrators, and executives of football institutions.

Application Process Applications for the fourth edition of the FIFA Diploma in Football Law are accepted until 15 January 2026. The Academic Board will select up to 30 participants. A PPLY H E RE All applicants will be informed of their application status.
Tuition Fees Contact The programme fee of USD 10,000 is due upon acceptance and covers materials and operational costs for all five modules, including lunches, Enquires related to the FIFA Diploma in Football Law can be addressed to: coffee breaks and select group activities. FIFA will cover the tuition fees and travel expenses for participants from FIFA Member Associations. FIFA Legal & Compliance Division The travel expenses incurred by other participants are to be borne by the legal-diploma@fifa.org participant themselves or their sponsoring organisation. Detailed logistical and payment information will be shared with accepted participants in due course.
